Zippora Elders

Zippora Elders (NL, 1986) is a curator based in Berlin and The Netherlands.

She studied art history, museology and curatorial practice at the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit. Subsequently she was curator-in-training at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and curator at Foam museum for photography. Since 2016 she is artistic director at Kunstfort bij Vijfhuizen.

Elders curated solo exhibitions with amongst others Nobuyoshi Araki, Catherine Biocca, Roe Ethridge, Katy Grannan, Takeshi Ikeda, Rachel de Joode, Botond Keresztesi, Eva-Fiore Kovacovsky, Hannah Perry, Momo Okabe, Serge Onnen, Aura Rosenberg, Dan Walwin, Charlott Weise – as well as various group shows.

Moreover she has lectured, curated or written for several (international) platforms and institutions such as DARS Platform Tehran, Doornburgh buitenplaats voor kunst en wetenschap, Dutch National Opera and Ballet, DZ Bank Kunstsammlung Frankfurt, Foam Magazine, Garage Museum Moscow, HOW’s art museum Shanghai, International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam (IDFA), Kiasma Art Museum Helsinki, Kunsten ’92, Melk Galleri Oslo, Metropolis M, Mondriaan Fund, Preus Museum Norway, Rietveld Academie, Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten, Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam et cetera. She is an active board member of Kunsten ’92 and advisor for amongst others Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst, Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and the municipalities of Haarlem, Haarlemmermeer and The Hague.
She is Cocurator of Exhibitions for SONSBEEK 2020, as part of the team of artistic director Bonaventure Ndikung.

For 2021 she is co developing Constant I 0 I, a year dedicated to the legacy of Constant Nieuwenhuys.

Her program for Kunstfort bij Vijfhuizen, a 19th century concrete fortress peninsula since 2004 devoted to contemporary art, is inspired by the genre of science fiction.
